“Occult” means SECRET

It seems like the average “Occultist” has lost the plot— that’s what money has the capacity to do.

Occult legitimately stems from the latin word “occultare” other variations of the word meaning, to hide or to conceal.

SN: If you’re a little newer here, welcome! And also, I really have a problem with the word “witch” which, ironically, is why I used it for the original blog. I thought it would grow on me, but it just helped me realize why I can’t stand it… This doesn’t mean anyone else shouldn’t identify with it, this is my personal feeling, but if the word “witch” makes you itch— assess why.

I’ve been reflecting on the last few years and I’ve figured out why I have a love-hate relationship with the word “witch” as an identity. Due to various reasons, the “Witch” identity has taken on many forms, but this most current popular form is the enemy of the occult imo. Spreading information, misinformation, online recruiting, sensationalizing, marketing, group zooms… NONE of it is “occult”… it’s all over the internet. Even the “come one, come all” energy is bullshit, everyone doesn’t *need* the same information, it’s not always “more is better”, and everyone is absolutely not welcomed to just step into someone else’s Ancestral wisdom. And either way, if the information is being shared en masse on public forums.. it’s not occult. So, my irritation is rooted in the commercialization of Ancestral wisdom, the disrespect for gatekeeping/gatekeepers, & the recklessness that is causing so much Spiritual confusion between people .

Second, “Feminism” is a Western-American concept, and blending it with Ancestral (Indigenous Matriarchal) ideologies is brain fucking so many ppl. The erasure of witchcraft was not about “womanhood” for black and indigenous women — we were never considered as such. Western women were fighting for visibility in their practices THOUSANDS of years before African/Indigenous occultism was even discovered by them. Our secrecy didn’t originate from shame or persecution, it originated from RESPECT & REVERENCE for Elders & Anointed because gatekeeping insured the Spirits remained pleased. African/Indigenous occultism doesn’t need to be a Western style display of feminism, a riot, or a performance… and oftentimes ppl are limited in access because they talk too much & Indigenous Ancestral Occultism reveres silence and secrecy. You can DO both, but you can’t HAVE it both ways.

With that said, I will continue posting messages here, but they will be focused on seeking answers within you, resting in darkness/secrecy, and keeping yourself safe from energetic/“magical” shtshows.

Also, I’ll be changing the name of this blog to “The Unseen”.

Thank you for rolling with me as I work it out. As I’ve said, I want to make sure that what I *think* I’m being led to isn’t just what I want to do, but what’s effective for who I share it with. I don’t think that sharing and exchanging Ancestral “Occult” information makes sense, nor is it responsible to do in blog form. So, if you have any questions, feel free to ask and I will see what comes up for *YOU*, but I won’t be addressing anything that cannot be researched independently. The goal is for you to create your own systems & beliefs, not for you to be indoctrinated or swayed into mine. ALWAYS do what sits peacefully within you, if that’s nothing, find peace with yourself first.
